Buffalo Mountain Camp will close at end of year
After a year of recovery efforts, the fight is over at Buffalo Mountain Methodist Camp.
The Jonesborough camp was devastated by flash flooding last August, causing more than $3 million in damage. Click here to read more.
Eight bridges washed away, five cabins were destroyed, and the camp's dining hall was left unusable. Click here to view photos of the damage.
The camp was partially open this summer, but according to a letter on the camp's website, the board of directors has voted to close all operations as of January 1, 2013, "until a renewed operation is designed, developed and funded."
The camp is still accepting donations.
