BRISTOL, Va. -

The Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol, Va has started to grow without even opening its doors.

A generous donation has made it possible for the Country Music Association to open right next door.

Joseph and Cindy Gregory made the funds possible for the group to acquire the building.

Leah Ross, Executive Director for the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, says the historic building looks promising, but will take time to develop.

“By the time you get drawings, you get a plan for what you're going to use the building for, it takes time,” said Ross. “So I think at the earliest probably three years, but who knows it could be earlier than that."

The association has asked city government for help in securing the initial drawings to get the project started, but there’s no rush since the museum is its last stages for an August opening.
