The Virginia Tobacco Commission has approved grant money for a film in Southwest Virginia.

The film Big Stone Gap, written by author Adriana Trigiani, received $250,000 from the commission. "It's a huge act of largesse on the part of the commission," said Trigiani. "We take it very seriously."

The movie will star Patrick Wilson and is set to start filming in mid-October.

Trigiana says the film is still looking for extras.
