NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Authorities say icy road conditions are partly to blame for a fatal car accident in Davidson County.

Investigators say the driver was crossing a bridge in Nashville then lost control and struck a utility pole. They say the driver was speeding. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Weather officials say there are still patches of ice on some roads across the state, but that it's starting to melt as temperatures rise above freezing. The icy conditions have also caused some power outages.

Officials are predicting rain for the middle and eastern part of the state overnight, but don't expect any problems because temperatures will be above freezing.

However, parts of West Tennessee could see frozen precipitation, as temperatures will be around freezing.
