KINGSPORT, Tenn. -

Downtown Kingsport was full of art-lovers Friday, as the city held their first art festival in five years.

Art in the Heart event goers had the chance to visit almost a dozen artist booths, see live music and walk around downtown.

The city's Office of Cultural Arts said the main goal was to unveil 10 new sculptures that have been placed along Main, Market and Broad Streets.

The sculptures will remain there for 11 months.

Bonnie Macdonald from the Office of Cultural Arts said, "They go into our community, we have the opportunity to live with them, we learn their stories, a little bit about the artist that makes them and over the course of eight years we've been able to add pieces to our permanent art collection."

The event will continue Saturday morning with the eighth annual Sculpture Walk.

A free tour starts at 9 a.m. with a bagel breakfast at Star Trails Gallery.
