A man accused of killing his wife is heading back to Alabama to face charges.

Suspect Richard Shahan waived his right to an extradition hearing in a Nashville courtroom Tuesday morning.

That means authorities will transfer Shahan back to Alabama to face murder charges.

The Birmingham pastor was arrested on New Year's Day at Nashville International Airport after booking a flight to Germany.

ICE agents nabbed him at the last minute.

Shahan is accused of stabbing his wife to death in their Birmingham home last July.
