Work continues on plans for Bristol parking structure
More discussions are on the way to bring a parking complex to downtown Bristol.
In a work session Thursday Bristol, Virginia leaders heard a presentation by a company offering parking plan proposals.
Several different options have been discussed, including different types of parking garages in three different locations.
"There's a lot of pieces that go into that. You have to look at cost. You have to look actual size and distance to the major attractions downtown; not just the existing ones but the future ones," said Andrew Trivette, the director of community and economic development.
Part of the conversation also included possibly making "pay-to-park" spaces.
City leaders said all of these options need to be explored so they can develop a more concrete plan and submit that to the city council for final approval in the next few months.
