Woman charged with attempted second degree murder

A Sullivan County woman was charged with attempted second degree murder after authorities say she fired a pistol at her son.

Deputies arrested 68-year-old Wilma Harrison after getting a call to her home on Brooklawn Drive in Kingsport Saturday. According to the sheriff's department, her son said he had come to the house to get his belongings and Harrison wouldn't let him inside.

He told investigators as he was leaving his mother fired a shot at him.

Officers found a pistol in Harrison's home.

She was released on bond Monday.
