Woman accused of making threats against local hospital
Sherrie Morgan was taken to hospital after arrest on unrelated charges.
By A woman is facing charges after police say a hospital received an anonymous call that was threatening.
Johnson City Police say Sherry Morgan, also known as Sherry Pierce, was first arrested early Thursday on a shoplifting charge.
When arrested, police say Morgan told them she was sick and they took her to Johnson City Medical Center. Police tell us she was under guard when she asked to go to the restroom.
That's when police believe Morgan made the anonymous call to the hospital saying two or three men were planning a shooting at the building. They tell us the hospital security immediately reacted.
Police say there was no threat.
Morgan is now charged with filing a false report, a felony, shoplifting and resisting arrest, among other charges.
