BRISTOL, Va. -

The election may be over, but a man with a front row seat in Washington visited Bristol.

NBC Chief White House Correspondent and Political Director Chuck Todd made a stop in Bristol Saturday.

The crowd which included local high school students heard insight from this Tuesday's election.

"The most surprising thing is what happened in the U.S. Senate. The fact that Democrats picked up more seats. That is one of these [situations where] it gave the President and they didn't expect to have this much leverage," said Todd.

Todd also says this election has taught the country that demographics are changing and will play a major role in the 2016 election.
