They put their life on the line for our country and now more than 30 employers are looking to help repay them.

Veterans from all over came to Hiring Our Heroes job fair, which was meant only for those who have served in the military and their spouses.

We caught up with one local veteran who was one of the 1,200 let go by Alpha Natural Resources and he says job fairs like the one in Kingsport are a blessing.

“If nothing else, you will be reminded of what humility is, but also, it reminds you and millions of other Americans that no one is immune, everyone is vulnerable," said Neal Kerney.

Hiring Our Heroes has held more than 300 hiring fairs nationwide.
