USGS: Magnitude 4.3 earthquake shakes area

The USGS tells us a magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred early Saturday afternoon.

The earthquake was centered about 8 miles west of Whitesburg, KY or about 46 miles northwest of Kingsport, TN. The USGS says the quake struck at 12:08 p.m.

Viewers have reported feeling the quake across parts of East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Kentucky.
