Tuesday is sixth anniversary of Va. Tech shooting
Tuesday marks six years since a shooting rampage at Virginia Tech.
The state is pausing to remember the victims from April 16, 2007. That's when a college student went on a shooting spree at the campus in Blacksburg.
Thirty-two people were killed and the gunman ended up taking his own life.
It is considered the deadliest shooting rampage in modern US history.
Virginia's governor, Bob McDonnell, named April 16 as the official day of remembrance.
In memory of the victims a blood drive will be held in Abingdon Tuesday.
The Virginia Tech for Life blood drive will be at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center from noon until 7:30 p.m.
