A Sullivan County Grand Jury indicted a man on charges of abuse.
The case stems from an investigation that began a few months ago.
Adult Protective Services received a report that 65-year-old Jimmy Brown, of Blountville, was not properly caring for his 86-year-old mother.
They say the victim is bedridden and unable to care for herself. Their investigation stated that she was not getting her medicine and suffering from malnutrition and dehydration.
Brown is also accused of using his mother's money for things other than her care.
He's charged with willful abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult. He was arrested Thursday and released on a $20,000 bond.
