School evacuated after gas leak
KINGSPORT, Tenn. -

The Kingsport Police Department said Johnson Elementary School was evacuated around 1:30 p.m. Thursday after a gas leak.

Dispatchers said it was a small gas line that was hit while construction crews were digging and the school was evacuated as a precaution.

Traffic in that area was being rerouted Thursday afternoon.
