BRISTOL, Tenn. -

The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign needs your help.

The money raised during the holiday shopping season, supports the program's million-dollar budget year round.

However, we have learned daily donations in the Tri-Cities are down this year and it could cause problems.

Captain Joseph Irvin, of the Bristol Salvation Army said, "It ends up being $576 less [daily] than what we had last year and over a 32-day campaign, we're looking at a shortfall of $18,000.”

The Red Kettle campaign goal for the Tri-Cities, which includes Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City, is $470,000.

If that goal is not met, we are told they may have to cut back on staffing, programs and assistance.
