Rolling Thunder dedicates new Missing Man Chair
Latest chair placed at BAE Systems in Kingsport
The Johnson City chapter of Rolling Thunder dedicated a special chair Wednesday at the BAE Systems plant in Kingsport.
The group placed its latest missing man chair in the lobby of the ammunition plant office building.
The chairs are dedicated in honor of the thousands of U.S. service members that were prisoners of war or are still missing in action.
Rolling Thunder members say the army ammunition plant is a special site to place the memorial. "I believe this is part of our country,” said Rolling Thunder member Earl Leonard. “It is part of the Army. We want to let the government and people know that we still remembers and will never forget."
The Johnson City chapter of Rolling Thunder has placed ten Missing Man Chairs across the Tri-Cities over the past couple of years.
They are currently working on placing two more in the next couple of weeks.
