Many people recycle their gift-wrapping and even boxes after the holidays are over, but what happens to the Christmas trees?
The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency has teamed up with Keep Johnson City Beautiful and the city of Johnson City to help recycle live trees left over from the holidays.
They will be accepting the trees from now until January 19 at the Winged Deer Park boat ramp parking lot on Carroll Creek road in Johnson City.
The TWRA plans to use these trees to create fish habitats, enhancing not only the aquatic habitat of our lakes, but also fishing opportunities for local anglers.
