Rain swept through the Tri-Cities Thursday afternoon, leaving behind a bit of damage.
In Kingsport the rain came down hard and dispatchers told News 5 trees were down in parts of the city.
In Bristol, Tennessee News 5 found a home with the backyard completely flooded on Cedar Valley Road. The homeowner says she built a retention wall to protect her basement and home every time it rains.
But that wasn't the only problem caused by rain -- Bristol police had to direct traffic Thursday evening on Commonwealth Avenue and State Street because traffic lights went out.
In the Wallace community in Bristol, Virginia the front yard of one home looked like a raging river. Roads were starting to flood and cars were driving slowly and cautiously.
