BRISTOL, Tenn. -

The fans are pouring in and the vendors are stocking up.

It’s race week in Bristol and you better believe millions of dollars worth of products are going to be sold. There are some new additions to the items fans can buy at the vendor tents this year and some of them are unexpected as well as unusual.

You can get just about anything you want and then some. With such a varied demographic of fans, there are plenty of different priorities on how to spend those race bucks. You will see the traditional baseball hats, stickers and even wrecked race car parts.

But now there are new additions like different food options, beer right on the street by the case, Mason jar candle holders and even alligator heads. It comes down to what people are willing to spend on what they want.

"The way the economy is now, they will spend $100 to $150 every now and then, but most of the time it is $5 to $10,” vendor Bob Proffitt said. “That’s why we have a lot of prices cut."

And then there is the issue of the alcohol budget versus the keepsake budget, and how the two are decided. "So far we've blown the budget on alcohol, absolutely,” race fan Chad Phipps said. “Souvenirs might match it soon, we are not sure. Souvenirs help you get drunk but they don't get you drunk. You've got to have alcohol to do that."

It all comes down to buying something to remember the race, and in some cases it might help fans remember they were here at all.
