SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

Property taxes are going up in Sullivan County, Tennessee.

The commission voted 16 to 7 to increase the property taxes by 20 cents.

If you own property in the county, that increase will show up on your next property tax assessment.

Residents and business owners were at the meeting last night voicing their concerns about paying more.

Sullivan County commissioners looked at the increase after a budget deficit was evident at the beginning of the fiscal year.
