It's back to square one for a piece of property in Johnson City.
The property in question is the one across the street from the ETSU Mini Dome.
News 5 has learned the developer who planned to put new businesses there has backed out. The Washington County Economic Development Council says the deal was struck back in May with a $600,000 contract.
But access and traffic issues were the biggest hurdle for the developer. "It's between two existing businesses one on each side, flood plain in the back with the stream, State of Franklin Road is very busy, and the new parking garage across the street," said Robert Reynolds, CEO of the Washington County Economic Development Council.
News 5 learned development with this property has been up and down for some time. But it is back on the market, and we're told there has already been some interest.
