A word of warning from law enforcement as you finish up your holiday shopping, keep a close-eye on your purse.
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office says a big mistake shoppers often make is leaving their purse inside their car.
We've learned thieves go through parking lots looking for left behind bags. But people can also become an unknowing target inside the store.
"People will put their purse in their cart and then step away from the cart. That is a big mistake, because you're setting yourself up to have your purse snatched. So, either keep it on your person or don't leave your cart unattended," said Leslie Earhart with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office also recommends to carry a purse that zips or closes tightly.
