Police release more information about Monday I-81 accident

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. -

There were new facts released Tuesday afternoon on an interstate crash we first told you about Monday.

We've learned 46-year-old Cleve Packer of Palmyra, Virginia was driving the car at the time of the crash. It happened on the southbound lanes of the Interstate 81 offramp at exit 19 near Abingdon.

We're told that Packer lost control of his car and ran off the road, striking a sign and then a tree.

He was flown to Bristol Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
