Congressman Phil Roe, M.D. (TN-01) released a statement on the eleventh anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
“Today, we pause to remember a dark day in American history. We stand together and cherish the memory of those we lost. We will never forget.
“The death of Osama bin Laden last May brought peace of mind and justice to a nation still healing and rebuilding. While nothing can make up for the lives lost that September morning, we can takecomfort in the fact that our children and grandchildren do not have to live in a world fearful of this madman.
“While the attacks of September 11, 2001 scarred our nation, they did not break our spirit. Today, we give thanks to our men and women in uniform who have fought or are fighting to ensure Americans are safe and free.”
