Parents speak out about Connecticut shootings

BRISTOL, Tenn. -

This is a tragedy that affects every American, but it can be especially difficult for parents.

We sent a crew to Anderson Elementary School in Bristol, Tenn. and spoke to some parents who were waiting for their little ones to get out of school.

We asked them their thoughts and the response we heard most often was actually the question: “Why?”

"I just don't know how some guy could actually do that to kindergarteners or any school period," said Jason Young.

Many of the parents told us their biggest concern was explaining the shooting to their young children.
