A Boones Creek Middle School student was escorted out of the building in handcuffs on Monday morning, accused of bringing weapons to school.
According to the Washington County, Tennessee Assistant Director of Schools for Attendance and Discipline, officials were tipped off by other students that the accused had a BB gun and a small pocket knife.
The student has been suspended and school leaders say the Washington County Sheriff's Department tells them the student is in the detention center.
There will be a hearing in about ten days to decide his educational placement.
Authorities say, right now, it appears the student did not intend to harm anyone.
