The Laurel Marina & Yacht Club will host the South Holston Lake, Speedway Children's Charities On Water Poker Run. The event, which has grown steadily over the past eight years, has raised over $80,000 for the Bristol Motor Speedway based charity. Cost for participation is a suggested donation of $35, and a $1,000 cash purse will be awarded to the winning hand

On July 10th, Laurel Marina & Yacht Club, in conjunction with the YWCA of Bristol, will present Home Afloat, Houseboat Tours. The tours begin at 6pm at Laurel Marina & Yacht Club.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at Laurel Marina & Yacht Club, 191 Shady Ford Road, Bristol, TN. The cost of the tour is $50 per person or $75 per couple. Proceeds will benefit the YWCA of Bristol. To register, contact Laurel Marina at (423) 878-3721.

Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area will present the 36th season of "Liberty!" the official outdoor drama of the State of Tennessee.
Sycamore Shoals will hold the outdoor drama at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays through July 26 at the Fort Watauga Amphitheater. More details here.

Tennessee’s official outdoor drama, presented by local performers against the backdrop of Fort Watauga. See the Revolution as told by the Overmountain Men: colonists who defied British law and settled on Cherokee lands. These settlers formed an independent government, made treaties with the Cherokee, defended their homes, and fought a British army at the epic battle of King’s Mountain. Bleacher seating is available in the Amphitheater. Sponsored by Friends of Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area. Admission Charge.
Summer Art Show
Art show and sale runs through July 27th. This multi-media exhibit is two art shows in one: “12th Annual Judged show” and the “20th Annual Watauga Valley Art League Member show”. Learn more here.

The town of Marion, Va will host a July 4th celebration. The 5K Freedom Run is at the Holston Hills Community Club on Friday, July 4th. Registration starts at 7am. Early bird registration is $20, and fee is $25 day of event, with proceeds benefitting Marion VFW Post 4667.
