Police say two children were seriously injured when a car they were riding in crashed through a building Thursday afternoon.
Johnson City Police tell News 5 the crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Officers say the driver of a Toyota Camry lost control while traveling along Market Street at a very high rate of speed.
Police say the car ran off the right side of the road, then crossed all five lanes of traffic and back off the left side of the road.
Investigators say the car slid more than 1,000 feet before going airborne and flying 80 feet through the air.
An employee in the office was not hurt, but the three people in the car were taken to the hospital.
Two children in the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver, 22-year-old Jonathan Davis, was also taken to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and police say charges will likely be filed.
