Work to build a new animal shelter in Johnson City is moving forward with a major donor already lined up.
A feasibility study presented to the board of directors Tuesday found strong community support for the new center.
Animal shelter director Debbie Dobbs says study also found donor who ready to give 250-thousand dollars to the project if it moves forward.
The new shelter is to be build along North Roan Street at a cost of roughly $1.7-million dollars.
The animal control board is now considering hiring a professional fund raising firm to lead the financial campaign.
