Legislation that would require prospective college students to show proof of meningitis immunization is set to hit the Senate floor Monday.
Last week saw a delay for this legislation, sponsored by Sen. Lowe Finney of Jackson, Tennessee and House Minority Leader Craig Fitzhugh of Ripley. A reason for the delay has not been announced.
According to Fitzhugh, a Middle Tennessee State University student died after contracting Meningitis, which can be deadly in as little as twenty-four hours.
