Man on farm tractor hit by train
A man on a farm tractor was hit by a train while trying to help a broken-down vehicle stuck near the track.
Tennessee Highway Patrol tells News 5 Ronald Blevins of Washington County, Tennessee was trying to pull a broken-down FedEx truck across the tracks. They say he saw the train coming and jumped from his tractor, but was too late.
Thankfully, emergency crews were just across the street. "We actually had a couple of guys in the station when it happened. They heard the accident, they heard the impact, they had a pretty quick response time," said Lieutenant Brandon Archer with the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department.
Blevins was taken to Johnson City Medical Center. Firefighters say he is in stable condition.
We've also learned no charges will be filed.
