Man faces meth charges

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -

A Gray, Tennessee man was arrested on meth charges Tuesday.

James Kimes was charged with promotion of meth manufacture and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Johnson City Police say an anonymous tip led them to the 400 block of Garden Drive in Johnson City.

Police say they saw Kimes sitting outside in a vehicle and they ordered him to get out.

According to the Johnson City Press, police they found a two-liter bottle, unopened pseudoephedrine tablets, plastic bags and other items commonly used to make meth.

Kimes reportedly told officers the tablets were for a friend.

He's in the Washington County, Tennessee Detention Center under bond.
