Man charged with armed robbery

An armed robbery at a Kingsport convenience store leads to charges.

Kingsport Police say the robbery happened around one o'clock Friday morning.

Police believe Jeffery Kendrick, Junior is responsible for that robbery. They tell us the clerk identified him and says he entered the store with a gun, demanding money from the register.

Police say Kendrick is believed to have taken cash.

We're told Kendrick was found a short time later and charged with aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police say the money and handgun were also found a short time later.
