It's a somber day Tuesday as Americans mark the eleventh anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Several events are happening across our area in tribute to the lives lost that day.

Here are just a few of them:

Marsh Regional Blood Center is hosting their annual blood drive at Bristol Motor Speedway. The event will go from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The town of Marion, Virginia will have their annual Patriot Day commemoration starting at 6 p.m. at the Marion Fire Hall on Main Street.

Tennessee High School will have a special ceremony led by the Junior ROTC program. It begins at 9 a.m. in Viking Hall.

The Jenny Lea Academy of Cosmetology is hosting an event called Hero Day. They will be offering free haircuts to those in the military, veterans, firemen, police, EMTs and paramedics. It will go from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the evening.
