Kingsport investigating possible missing child

KINGSPORT, Tenn. -

Kingsport police continue to ask for your help in an investigation that began with a report of a missing child.

That report came in last Wednesday, when a woman says she was stopped by another woman who was looking for her toddler son on Lynn Garden Drive. Police say around the same time, they received a call asking if a child had been taken to the hospital.

Police are now trying to identify that caller. They say they've tried to trace the number, but have not been successful. So, if you know whose phone number is 423-579-6017, you are asked to call police.
