For the 59th year in a row, locals will be parading down Kingsport to show off their patriotism.
The annual Kingsport Fourth of July parade marches on at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.
We found out you're likely to see some familiar floats. About 100 of them will be parading in red, white, and blue.
This year you can expect some new, patriotic surprises as well. "One of the things that we're doing this year that we have never done before is we're having some students from Rock Springs Elementary School do the pledge, and they're going to be doing it in sign language and speaking it. We're also going to have someone singing the national anthem, and we're going to be having a prayer and someone reading the Declaration of Independence,” said Lea Ann Rasar with the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce. They are this year’s parade organizers.
The parade route runs through Center Street and down Fort Henry Drive.
