Tennessee’s Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey has unveiled a plan that would re-draw Tennessee’s judicial districts.
We’ve learned the districts were last drawn in 1984. The proposed map causes minimal disruption to the current system. We’re told only 22 counties in 8 districts will be affected.
The plan also reduces the number of judicial districts from 31 to 29. An open call for judicial redistricting proposals went out in February.
Officials tell us 14 maps were submitted, as well as informal input from members of the public and stakeholder groups.
