A murder case against a Johnson City man will go before a grand jury.
31-year-old Steven Bennett is charged with second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. Police believe he killed Vonda Donaldson on September 29th and threw her body off of the Butler Bridge in Carter County.
She was found in Watauga Lake three days after her family reported her missing.
According to The Johnson City Press, Johnson City Police Investigator Joe Harrah testified in sessions court Tuesday that Bennett told him he killed Donaldson while they were having sex by choking her.
He remains in jail under a $100,000 bond and will be in criminal court on January 22nd.
