A Duffield Regional Jail inmate was indicted on capital murder charges this week in Scott County, Virginia.
According to Commonwealth's Attorney Marcus McClung, 21-year-old Shannon Bellamy is charged with killing a fellow inmate in April.
McClung says an altercation led to the death of 42-year-old Jeffery Kilgore, of Wise, in a housing pod.
He says Bellamy is from Gate City and was serving time on drug and child sex charges.
Bellamy could face the death penalty if convicted.
