JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -

Several area churches are teaming up to make an impact throughout Johnson City in one day.

The Impact JC work day returns for the fourth year on Saturday, October 27.

It’s organized by several Johnson City area United Methodist churches, but they are hoping to attract volunteers from a wide variety of organizations.

The program has identified 12 projects across the city where organizers hope the hundreds of volunteers can make a major impact.

"There are some projects like home repair where it would be nice to have skills,” says organizer Dianna Cantlier. “But we have many family friendly projects in area parks where no skills are needed except a willing heart hands and gloves."

The day is being held in conjunction with Make A Difference Day across the nation.

Along with the service projects, Impact JC is sponsoring a food drive and blood drive that day as well.

Volunteers are asked to sign up online in advance. You can learn more about the projects and how to volunteer by clicking here.
