A Hawkins County man is facing charges for firing several rounds into a family's Grainger County home.
Police say 55-year-old George "Stevie" Atkins showed up to a home in Bean Station. According to their reports, Atkins pointed a .22-caliber rifle in the face of a juvenile at the house.
Police say the child ran, but Atkins began shooting at random. Atkins was later stopped by deputies and they found a Marlin rifle in his car.
Atkins is now charged with D.U.I., violation of the implied consent law, felony aggravated assault, five counts of felony reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm with the intent to go armed.
He is in the Grainger County Detention Center on a $13,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 6.
