A teenager is dead and another is in critical condition after a stabbing in Elizabethton.
We talked to Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes who tells us it happened around 3 a.m. on Cash Hollow Road.
Sheriff Mathes says a fight occurred and two juveniles were stabbed. Both juveniles were taken to the Johnson City Medical Center.
We're told 16-year-old Elijah McKinney, a student at Happy Valley High School, later died from his injuries.
The second person, whose name has not been released, is in critical condition.
Police have arrested two people at an apartment complex off of Milligan Highway. They are both juveniles, so no names are being released
One of the suspects is facing second degree murder and aggravated assault charges. The second is charged with tampering with evidence.
Both are being held in the Johnson City Juvenile Detention Center.
