Hancock and Hawkins Counties are both going to receive additional money for the WIC program from the United States Department of Agriculture.

The Women, Infants and Children Special Supplemental Nutrition Program, or WIC, funds will be used for renovations to Health Department buildings in both counties and improve service to clients.

Hawkins county will receive $499,927 and will use the money to construct a new addition to the facility, create space for treatment rooms, and add a waiting area and nutrition education room.

Hancock County will receive $18,000 and will use their grant to improve the front desk area and improve access to services.
