Virginia U.S Senate Candidate George Allen made a stop in Southwest Virginia today.

Local Veterans in Abingdon gathered at the Veterans Memorial Park for a luncheon. They heard Allen speak about problems he sees in today's government and how he plans to help change it, if elected.

He told us energy is being pulled from other resources when we have plenty of it right here in the states. “We have our energy resources under our land and water. We have the resources and creativity of our American people. What is missing is the political leadership to unleash those resources," said Allen.

Allen also says he believes his campaign is going very well and looks forward to the November election.
