Gas prices have taken a dramatic increase in the past month.
According to AAA, gas prices have gone up nearly 42 cents since January and 12 cents in the past week.
One oil analyst with gasbuddy.com says the reason for the increase is because of rising oil prices.
The current national average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.71.
This time last year the average was $3.53 a gallon.
Many drivers say they're feeling pain at the pump.
"It's ridiculous, I can think a lot of ways we can get the prices down. We're always going to need gas and I think it's just ridiculous. They're just hurting the people who work hard and have to be out there driving," says local George Hutchinson.
According to gas buddy.com typically gas prices go up by about 50 cents between late March through early May.
If that happens again this year the national average for a gallon of gasoline could easily go up above $4.00 a gallon.
