Authorities released the name of the man they say drowned in Fort Patrick Henry Lake Sunday night.

According to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Samuel Bell died after he jumped out of a tree on a cliff into the lake.

Crews got the call to Warrior's Path State Park in Kingsport around 6 p.m. Sunday. According to Public Information Officer Leslie Earhart, Bell's body was found just before 9 p.m.

Witnesses at the scene said Bell climbed out onto a tree to jump, but his foot got caught and that caused him to land on his side in the lake. They say he never resurfaced.

Bell's body will be sent for an autopsy.
