The Tennessee Supreme Court will not hear the appeals of a former Sullivan County road commissioner to overturn his felony conviction.
According to the Tennessee court's website, former Sullivan County Road Commissioner Allen Pope was convicted of theft of services of over $10,000 in 2010 after being accused of using county equipment to do work for a private developer.
According to the state Supreme Court's website, convictions for official misconduct and using public equipment for private purposes were overturned late last year.
The judge's decision not to hear the latest appeal means Pope's felony conviction stands and he cannot return to elected office.
