GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -

A former Greene County sheriff's deputy pleaded guilty in U.S. District court today to violating a person's civil rights.

Robbie Morgan resigned from the sheriff's department back in March after working there for 14 years amid a misconduct investigation. Federal authorities began looking into allegations against Morgan after a woman claimed the deputy forced her to perform a sexual favor in exchange for her release in a potential DUI case.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 2013.
