An arson investigation is underway in Carter County, Tennessee.

Investigators with the Carter County Sheriff's Department tell us the fire happened just before 2:00 Sunday afternoon on Jackson Avenue in Elizabethton.

We’re told no was home at the time.

Crews say the fire may be suspicious because there was no electricity at the home.

We’re told the fire actually spread to the nearby national forests.

The investigation is ongoing.
